Asian Tech Press -- Tesla CEO Elon Musk has unexpectedly appeared in reports by Xinhua News Agency, China's state-run media outlet, just as Tesla is being questioned by Chinese officials about data security threats.

Musk tweeted praise for China on the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC). In a comment on Xinhua's tweet, he said, "The economic prosperity that China has achieved is truly amazing, especially in infrastructure! I encourage people to visit and see for themselves."

Over the previous two months or so, Tesla had caused an uproar in China.

Chinese official media, as well as new media from official agencies, accused Tesla of having potential problems with its brakes, as well as being irresponsible to consumers.

In addition, Tesla has been questioned on data security, and official Chinese agencies have not allowed employees to drive Teslas into the compounds of agencies.

But the American billionaire doesn't seem to have lost his goodwill towards China, issuing short-worded comments to highly praise China's economic boom on CPC's 100th anniversary.

Xinhua, China's state-run news agency, quoted some foreigners' comments about the CPC or China in the propaganda story, titled "A glorious journey through a century of struggle, ushering in great rejuvenation and a bright future", which was also published in the People's Daily, the flagship newspaper of the CPC.

Such propaganda articles may suggest that China has not lost its favor with Tesla and Musk. And it is undoubtedly good news for Tesla, which was previously mired in allegations of brake failure.
