Asia Tech Wire (Sep 25) -- Chinese electric vehicle maker Leapmotor and its partner Stellantis said that joint venture Leapmotor International will start taking orders for a city car and an SUV in Europe, expanding their budget EV offerings in the region.

Leapmotor International said the T03 compact sedan will go on sale at the end of September with a starting price of 18,900 euros, while the C10 SUV will be available in dealerships in October with a starting price of 36,400 euros.

As for the T03, which was initially imported from China, will be assembled at Stellantis' plant in Tychy, Poland. According to Reuters, this could potentially help the brand avoid EU tariffs on imported Chinese EVs.

Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares previously hinted that the C10 model could also be built in Europe, but did not provide details.
