South Korean electronics company LG Electronics Inc. released its Q1 2021 financial results on April 29, and finally verified that the company's operating profit for the first quarter of 2021 increased by 39.1% year-on-year to 1.5166 trillion won ($1.37 billion), and that its sales increased 27.7% year-on-year to 18.8095 trillion won ($16.91 billion), with both indicators hitting new highs.

Specifically, the home appliances division achieved an operating profit of 919.9 billion won on sales of 6.7081 trillion won. The sales in the TV business division rose to 4.0082 trillion won and operating profit reached 403.8 billion won.

Sales of the auto parts division increased 43.5% year-on-year to 1.8935 trillion won, and the operating loss dropped significantly to 700 million won. The smartphone division posted sales of 998.7 billion won and a loss of 290.1 billion won.
