LG: 42-inch OLED TV to be delayed until 2022

According to media reports, previously at this year's CES 2021, LG Display announced plans to release a 42-inch OLED TV in 2021. However, it is now reported that LG's planned launch of a 42-inch OLED TV set has been postponed to 2022.

In addition, the new 2022 TV lineup will debut at CES 2022. LG Electronics had planned to launch a 42-inch OLED TV in the second half of 2021 but postponed the plan to "maximize marketing" and add the model to its TV lineup next year.

The TV is optimized for consoles such as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X and is well suited to the current global "stay-in-home" trend. LG also hopes the smaller size will appeal to more gamers, especially those with higher picture quality requirements. It uses advanced video processing technology to provide a 120Hz refresh rate at 4K resolution, making games smoother.
