Kia & Hyundai face another shutdown due to chip shortage

Recently, several South Korean automakers have been temporarily shutting down production due to chip shortages.

Since the 17th, Hyundai and Kia are facing a new round of production shutdowns at a number of factories producing popular models.

Kia's shutdown is the lack of chips to control the vehicle's airbags, which is the first time that Kia officially stopped production due to chip shortage.
