Asia Tech Wire (June 21) -- The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) is investigating a possible data leak following multiple cyberattacks, a spokesperson for the agency said Friday.

The space agency launched the investigation after the attacks began last year, but cyberattacks on JAXA continued into this year.

JAXA said information on the operation of rockets and satellites is stored in a separate network and was not affected by the attacks.

Earlier news broke that more than 10,000 files may have been leaked from JAXA, including confidential information from Toyota, NASA, and others.
