Intel seeks to team up with Samsung against TSMC

Asia Tech Wire (Oct 23) -- Intel seeks to establish a foundry alliance with Samsung Electronics to counterbalance TSMC, according to Korean media reports.

Intel has not yet attracted large customers since the launch of Intel Foundry Services in 2021.

Samsung Electronics set up its foundry division in 2017, but the gap with TSMC is still large.

Korean media reports said that Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger wants to meet personally with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong to discuss comprehensive cooperation measures in the foundry field.
