India selects four global firms to boost IT products manufacturing

India on Thursday selected Dell Inc, Wistron Corp's ICT, Flex, and Foxconn's Rising Stars in its choice of global companies in its $1 billion incentive program for international companies to boost production and exports of laptops, tablets, and personal computers.

According to a government statement, ten Indian companies were also named, including smartphone maker Lava and Dixon, which makes TVs in India for Xiaomi. (Reuters)
