IBM sues Japan's Rakuten for patent infringement on websites and mobile apps

IBM recently filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware to Japan’s e-commerce giant Rakuten for patent infringement.

The US tech giant accuses Rakuten of infringing on its four patents, which is found on e-commerce websites and mobile apps operated by Rakuten.

IBM askes Rakuten to stop using its technology, and claims compensation. It asserts that Rakuten has had no intention of responding to negotiations regarding the use of the patents since 2015.
