Huawei employees begin moving into world's largest R&D center in Shanghai

Asia Tech Wire (Oct 14) -- Huawei employees began moving into its world's largest research and development center in Shanghai on Monday.

Located in Shanghai's Qingpu District, Huawei's Lianqiu Lake R&D Center covers an area of about 2,400 mu, with a total construction area of about 2.06 million square meters.

With a total investment of more than 10 billion yuan, the R&D center will introduce more than 30,000 Huawei R&D talents in the future, making it Huawei's largest R&D base in the world.

In July 2024, Huawei fully completed the Qingpu project and officially named it Huawei Lianqiu Lake R&D Center.

There are more than one hundred small R&D buildings in the center, divided into several areas, internally connected by roads, small trains, etc.

The center mainly undertakes R&D tasks in the fields of terminal chips, wireless networks, and Internet of Things.
