Asian Tech Press (Nov 17) -- Google has reportedly cancelled parts orders for the Pixel Fold, its long-rumored foldable smartphone, and decided not to bring it to market in the near future.

The Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), a specialist research firm, revealed on Tuesday that Google has decided to abandon the release of the Pixel Fold, judging that the foldable smartphone it developed was not competitive enough.

DSCC CEO Ross Young said in his blog, "Google has decided not to bring the Pixel Fold to market. Not in 2021 and reportedly not in the first half of 2022."

The agency also said Google realized that the Pixel Fold could not compete with Samsung's foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Flip 3/Fold 3.
