GlobalFoundries recently announced that it will build a new wafer fab in its Singapore campus. Official information shows that the new fab is currently under construction and is scheduled to go into production in 2023 with an investment of more than $4 billion.
After the completion of the project, GlobalFoundries will have an additional production capacity of 450,000 wafers per year. In addition, information on its official website also indicates that the new fab will be the most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility in Singapore and enhance GlobalFoundries's ability to provide feature-rich radio frequency, analog power, and non-volatile memory solutions.
