Asia Tech Wire (Aug 7) -- German drugstore chain Dirk Rossmann GmbH will no longer buy Tesla cars for its fleet, citing Elon Musk's support for former U.S. President Donald Trump.

Rossmann, which has more than 62,000 employees and more than 4,700 branches in Europe, announced the decision in a statement Tuesday.

"Musk has made no secret of his support for Donald Trump," the statement reads. "Trump has repeatedly characterized climate change as a hoax, an attitude that stands in stark contrast to Tesla's mission to contribute to the environment through the production of electric cars."

The company said that while it would continue to use existing Tesla electric cars for sustainability purposes, it would shift future car orders to other manufacturers and models.
