Asian Tech Press (Aug 30)-- The acquisition deal between Nvidia and Arm is still uncertain. Elon Musk and Samsung have recently expressed their concerns about the acquisition.
The Financial Times revealed on August 28 that SoftBank, the current owner of Arm, will get a compensation fee of $1.3 billion once Nvidia's acquisition fails.
According to the Financial Times, antitrust regulators in the United Kingdom and the European Union are currently investigating the acquisition by Nvidia, and China's attitude is also critical.
According to a securities filing detailing the terms of the deal, Nvidia has paid SoftBank $1.3 billion upfront as part of a $2 billion cash payment due. The rest of the payment is for intellectual property licensing, totaling about $700 million.
