According to media reports, South Korean chipmaker DB HiTek, which began supplying self-developed display driver chips to panel makers in 2008, has made progress in the field of display driver chips. It will supply self-developed OLED display driver chips to Samsung Display.
DB HiTek will supply Samsung with 130nm process OLED display driver chips. Since Samsung Display is a major supplier of small and medium-sized OLED panels for mobile devices, DB HiTek supplies Samsung Display with the same display driver chips required for OLED panels for mobile devices.
DB HiTek is a chip foundry, but it is working to create its brand by developing chips and producing them in its factories to earn higher profits.
