Asia Tech Wire (July 26) -- Smartphone sales in China grew 6% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2024, according to a new report from Counterpoint.
The report noted that China's smartphone sales grew 6.8% year-on-year during the 618 shopping festival, helped by promotional discounts, which boosted sales in the quarter.
Specifically, vivo topped the Chinese smartphone market in Q2 2024 with an 18.5% share, followed by Apple (15.5%) and Huawei (15.4%).
According to the report, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max accounted for about 50% of iPhone sales in the quarter, up from 47% for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max in the same period last year.
