Counterpoint: China smartphone market on track for first annual growth in five years

Asia Tech Wire (Oct 28) -- Smartphone sales in China grew 2.3% year-on-year in Q3 2024, marking the fourth consecutive quarter of positive year-on-year growth, and are on track for the first annual growth in five years, according to the latest data from Counterpoint Research.

Counterpoint reported that vivo took the top spot again with 19.2% market share, followed by Huawei (16.4%) and Xiaomi (15.6%).

The fourth to sixth places were HONOR, OPPO, and Apple, with market shares of 15.3%, 14.7%, and 13.5%, respectively.

As of Oct. 8, more than 70% of China sales of the iPhone 16 series came from the Pro and Pro Max models.
