Chip prices soared fivefold as chips went from unavailable to unaffordable

Goldman Sachs latest research report pointed out that up to 169 industries worldwide have been hit by chip shortage to some extent, including steel products, concrete production, air conditioning manufacturing, beer brewing, soap production, and many other industries.

The intensification of the global chip shortage has made price increase inevitable. "Unavailable" and "unaffordable" have become common dilemmas faced by many downstream enterprises.

A practitioner said that a German-made chip they use was $0.55 last year, which has risen to $2.58 this year, with a fivefold increase in the price per chip.
