Chinese EV maker Xpeng announces formal entry into German market

Asia Tech Wire (Mar 28) -- Chinese electric car startup Xpeng Inc. (9868.HK) announced Thursday that it has officially entered the German market.

Xpeng is launching two models into the German market, the G9 Launch Edition and the P7 Launch Edition, with price ranges of 57,600-69,600 euros and 49,600-69,600 euros, respectively.

When sales kick off in May, it will operate in 24 retail locations across Germany in partnership with 12 local dealers.

Xpeng plans to increase the number of dealers to 60 and expand to 120 retail locations by the end of 2026.

The Chinese automaker aims to achieve a 3% market share in the model segment of the German new energy vehicle market by the end of this year.

Xpeng said it will also enter other European markets in the future, including France, Italy and the UK.
