Asian Tech Press (Dec 22) -- China's state-run Xinhua News Agency announced on Wednesday that it will issue a limited number of news digital collections via blockchain NFT technology.

And the series will feature selected photojournalism from 2021 and will be created as the first news digital collection in China.

Xinhua said in a notice it will launch the first batch of news digital collections for free at 8: 00 p.m. Beijing time on December 24, with a pre-release of 11 sheets, each limited to 10,000 copies. And a special edition of only one copy will be released.

Last month, People.com, affiliated with the flagship newspaper of the CPC People's Daily, issued an article accusing NFT of risks such as speculation, money laundering and financial productization, and stressing that NFT investments should be treated with caution.
