ByteDance mulls new data center in Thailand, report says

Asia Tech Wire (Oct 22) -- BytePlus, a subsidiary of ByteDance, is considering building a data center in Thailand next year to offer cloud and artificial intelligence-based services, according to the Bangkok Post.

Citing a person familiar with the matter, Tuesday's report said Thailand is part of ByteDance's expansion plans in Asia, where the e-commerce market has huge potential.

BytePlus recently launched technology solutions, including live e-commerce solutions, in the Thai market by appointing Thai company Light Up Total Solution PCL as its exclusive reseller, the report said.
