Asian Tech Press (Mar. 22) -- Apple experienced a massive outage on Monday, cutting out several core services.

Apple told employees that the outage stemmed from a problem with the Domain Name System (DNS), which occurs when servers fail to connect to internet protocol (IP) addresses and is usually caused by human error.

The company said 15 services affected, including the App Store, Apple Arcade, Apple TV, Apple Music and Apple Podcasts, which some users were unable to access.

The network outage also caused Apple's internal corporate and retail systems to go down for a time as well.

According to Down Detector, a website which monitors website outages, the outage began around 16:30 GMT (11:30 ET). At approximately 19:00 GMT (15:00 ET), Apple engineers solved the problem.
