Apple may compensate Samsung Display for reduced OLED panel orders

Samsung Display Solutions, a leading South Korean panel maker, belonging to Samsung Electronics, is likely to be compensated by Apple for a shortage of OLED panel orders, according to reports.

Data from market research firm Omdia shows that Samsung Display’s global shipments of smallest OLED fell 9% month-on-month in January, to 45 million.

Omdia said the decline in shipments was apparently caused by sluggish sales of Apple’s iPhone 12 mini.
