Analyst firm expects Samsung Display to produce 18 million foldable OLED panels in 2022

Asian Tech Press (Nov 01) -- Analyst firm UBI Research predicts that Samsung Display, a panel maker owned by Samsung Electronics, will produce 18 million foldable OLED panels in 2022.

In a report, UBI Research predicted that shipments of foldable OLED panels will reach 8.9 million in 2021. In 2025, shipments of foldable OLED panels are expected to reach 49 million, representing a CAGR of 53 percent.

In comparison, market research firm Omdia predicts that shipments of foldable OLED panels will increase from 10 million in 2021 to 66.61 million in 2025, with a CAGR of 61 percent.

Samsung Display is one of the world's largest suppliers of OLED panels, dominating the small and medium-sized OLED panel market, with Apple's iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone X all using the company's OLED panels.
