Amazon to disband a controversial JV in India with billionaire Narayana Murthy

Asian Tech Press -- Amazon.com Inc (AMZN: NASDAQ) will disband a controversial joint venture in India with billionaire Narayana Murthy, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The joint venture, called Prione Business Services Pvt., was set up with the business of helping merchants sell goods online, and they later became a dominant provider in India.

India's Supreme Court dismissed on Monday a petition by Amazon and Walmart's Flipkart to stop antitrust investigations, adding to the pressure on Amazon and Murthy, which led them to end their partnership.
