Asian Tech Press (Nov 30) -- Dutch chip equipment giant ASML on Thursday named a successor for CEO Peter Wennink, who will retire next April.

ASML said in a statement that its Supervisory Board intends to appoint Christophe Fouquet, currently the company's chief business officer and member of its Board of Management, as the company's next president and CEO.

The appointment is subject to approval at the company's annual general meeting of shareholders on April 24, 2024, it said.

At that point, ASML's current chief executive officer, Peter Wennink, and chief technology officer, Martin van den Brink, will retire from the company upon the expiration of their current terms.

According to the company's official website, Christophe joined ASML in 2008 and has held several management positions in marketing and product management.
