Yifei Laser leads the launch of major scientific and technological projects
On August 29th, the "Key Technologies and Equipment Development for Precision Laser Welding of Full-tab Tabs for Large Cylindrical Batteries" project, led by Yifei Laser, was officially launched. The project collaborates with battery companies such as EVE Energy, Guoxuan High-tech, Chuneng New Energy, and Yunshan Power, as well as research institutions such as Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Wuhan Yizhixincheng Technology Testing Co., Ltd. The project focuses on the laser welding of full-tab tabs for large cylindrical batteries. To address challenges encountered during welding, such as the use of highly reflective materials with sudden changes in physical parameters, ultra-thin, multi-layered full-tab materials, and precise control of large temperature gradients between the tab and the separator, the project is developing laser field spatiotemporal control technology and devices, real-time welding monitoring technology and systems using multi-parameter fusion sensing, and the integration and application of precision laser welding equipment for full-tab batteries. The project aims to achieve systematic optimization of yield, stability, and speed, accelerating the scale-up, standardization, and industrialization of large cylindrical full-tab batteries.
