He Xiaopeng, chairman and CEO of Xpeng Inc., talked about DeepSeek in an internal letter on Wednesday, saying that AI will drive automobiles to produce huge changes in the next decade.
According to He, 2025-2027 will be the most voluminous three years for China's auto industry, the most critical three years for Xpeng, and the three years with the most opportunities.
He said that Xpeng plans to launch a number of new cars and annual revisions in 2025, including the first new model of the super-electric version, emphasizing that there will be new blockbuster products and revisions almost every quarter.
He also mentioned the recent shakeup in the AI industry in his latest internal letter. He noted that Chinese tech company DeepSeek has shaken up the global tech scene, not only realizing a product experience comparable to OpenAI's large models, but also compressing costs to a very low level.
"In the next decade, I believe that AI will drive a huge change in automobiles, and will also drive a huge change in hardware and software on a global scale," He said.
Based on this, he said, "In the next decade we want to make Xpeng a 'globally oriented AI car company' and achieve all-round leadership in product (technology), business, organization and globalization."
