On December 16, Li Auto released a Q&A regarding vehicle OTA mechanisms. In response to the question of "why the OTA process cannot be interrupted", Li Auto stated that during the OTA upgrade process, the vehicle's controller will erase the current software and rewrite the new software and configuration parameters. If the upgrade is interrupted, the upgrade data may be incompletely transmitted and the program file may be damaged, causing the system to malfunction and affecting the normal use of the vehicle. At the same time, the whole vehicle OTA involves software updates for multiple control units of the vehicle. Each module needs to ensure software compatibility. If the upgrade is interrupted, the software versions between these systems may not match, causing the function to not work properly. The OTA upgrade of the vehicle is basically the same as the system upgrade logic of other electronic devices (such as mobile phones, tablets, etc.), and the upgrade cannot be interrupted after it is started.
