WhatsApp fixes security flaw that exposed Apple devices to targeted attacks

Meta's instant messaging software WhatsApp said it has fixed a security vulnerability that, combined with an Apple operating system-level vulnerability, could have allowed hackers to launch complex attacks on Apple devices of "specifically targeted users" and steal information. WhatsApp said the attack targeted fewer than 200 people and that it has notified all affected users and recommended that they update to the latest version to fix the vulnerability.
