As a retail giant and the largest grocer in the United States, Walmart is often seen as a barometer of the health of retailers and American consumers. CNBC reported that more and more American companies have raised the prices of goods due to tariffs, and Walmart has joined the ranks. Microsoft said earlier this month that it had raised the suggested retail price of Xbox game consoles and some controllers. An industry report previously released by the Telsey Consulting Group in the United States showed that from April 16 to April 30, the price of some Barbie dolls sold in the United States rose by 43%, while the price of some washing machines of Whirlpool Corporation in the United States also rose by about $80 during this period. The report also mentioned that some goods whose prices have not yet been affected by tariffs will soon face price increases in the future, and "retailers and manufacturers agree that higher costs will be passed on to consumers."
