Vietnamese electric car manufacturer VinFast officially opened its Indian assembly plant, with an annual production capacity of up to 150,000 vehicles.

On August 4th, local time, Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast officially held an inauguration ceremony for its electric vehicle assembly plant in the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Tamil Nadu, India. The VinFast Tamil Nadu plant is the company's fifth project globally, its third officially operational production base, and its first plant outside of Vietnam. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to create 3,000 to 3,500 direct jobs and thousands of indirect jobs in the local area. Initially, the plant will focus on assembling the VF 7 and VF 6 electric SUVs. The initial annual production capacity is 50,000 units, which can be increased to 150,000 units in the future to meet growing market demand.
