On August 19, Ling Ji, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy Representative for International Trade Negotiations, hosted a roundtable meeting for foreign-invested enterprises in the Pearl River Delta region in Guangzhou. Representatives from over 30 foreign-invested enterprises, including ExxonMobil, BASF, Hyundai Motor, RWE, Nike, Heinz, IBM, Siemens, and Walmart, attended and spoke at the meeting. Ling Ji stated that while global trade and investment barriers are increasing and international investment is slowing, the Chinese economy remains resilient, possesses great potential, and is vibrant, with a stable and positive outlook. We will guarantee national treatment for foreign-invested enterprises in accordance with the law, ensure equal participation in standard-setting, strengthen intellectual property protection, and continuously expand high-level opening up. China boasts abundant innovative resources and application scenarios, and we hope that foreign-invested enterprises will continue to deepen their presence in China, increase their R&D efforts there, and play a positive role in the stability and development of global supply chains. Participating enterprises expressed their deep appreciation for the strong support and high-quality services provided by governments at all levels. Despite the difficulties brought about by external uncertainties, they remain steadfast in their long-term investment in China, actively participate in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and contribute to China's high-quality development. Representatives from relevant departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Commerce, the Special Office in Guangzhou, and relevant departments of Guangdong Province addressed the questions and concerns raised by the enterprises one by one.
