US National Transportation Safety Board: Boeing and regulators failed in door-dropping accident

Officials of the National Transportation Safety Board said on the 24th local time that the investigation found that Boeing's poor actions and the Federal Aviation Administration's poor supervision led to the "door drop" accident of a Boeing passenger plane in the air in January 2024. Jennifer Homendy, chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board, said at the meeting that this incident could have been avoided because Boeing should have solved the problem of unauthorized production operations long ago, which had been found in Boeing's many internal audits, reports, quality alerts and regulatory compliance issues. Homendy said that Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration should have clearly seen the safety defects that led to the accident.
