U.S. Commerce Secretary urges people to buy Tesla stock
According to a report on the Fortune magazine website on March 20, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick wants Americans to buy Tesla shares. The company is owned by Trump adviser Elon Musk. In an interview with Fox News Channel, Lutnick incited people to panic about missing out on Tesla's stock rally. He directly told people to buy Tesla shares because its price would only go up from now on. This move may violate the code of ethics for government officials. The report commented that just a few days after President Trump turned the South Lawn of the White House into a Tesla car mall, one of his cabinet members called on Americans through the media to buy shares of Elon Musk's company.
