The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) on Wednesday approved chip design software maker Synopsys' $35 billion acquisition of industrial software company AnsTech after accepting certain remediation measures from the two companies. The CMA said it would not include the proposed acquisition in a second phase of its in-depth investigation. The regulator had said in December that the deal could reduce innovation and lead to higher prices, but the deal could be approved if the two companies addressed those issues.
