U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said Tuesday that UAE billionaire Hussein Sajwani will invest at least $20 billion to build data centers across the U.S.
The investment will support the construction of large-scale new data centers in key U.S. regions, i.e., the Sunbelt and Midwest states, in order to maintain U.S. leadership in technology, Trump said at a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on the same day.
He added that the development of artificial intelligence relies heavily on the support of data centers, which will become a very popular field in the coming years.
Sajwani is a billionaire from the UAE and chairman of Damac Properties (DAMAC). Based in Dubai, UAE, DAMAC is one of the largest real estate development companies in the Middle East.
