The three major U.S. stock indexes closed mixed, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.7%, the Nasdaq up 0.18%, and the S&P 500 up 0.07%. Hot technology stocks rose and fell, with Tesla down more than 8%, IBM down more than 7%, and Nvidia, Amazon, and Broadcom up more than 1%. Semiconductor and oil and gas sectors rose, with American Pixel up more than 7%, AMD up more than 2%, and ASML and Micron Technology up more than 1%.
