The three major U.S. stock indexes closed down collectively, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.62%, the Nasdaq down 1.71%, and the S&P 500 down 1.06%. Large technology stocks fell across the board, with AMD down more than 9%, Tesla down more than 5%, Nvidia, Meta, and Broadcom down more than 3%, Google down more than 2%, and Microsoft and Amazon down more than 1%. Cryptocurrency concepts, cruise ships, and automobile manufacturing fell the most, with Coinbase and Norwegian Cruise Line down more than 4%, and Strategy down more than 3%. Coal, precious metals, and diversified banking sectors rose, with U.S. Steel up nearly 4%, U.S. Gold Corp., Gold Resources, and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial up more than 3%, and Barclays up more than 2%.
