At the opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.54%, the S&P 500 rose 0.7%, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.86%. Intel (INTC.O) opened up 6.8%, following overnight earnings reports showing a return to profitability in the third quarter, a return to revenue growth, and optimistic revenue guidance. Procter & Gamble (PG.N) rose 3.5%, with first-quarter results beating expectations.
