The South Korean Ministry of Justice released a statement on the 13th saying that the statement made by the defense lawyer of former President Yoon Seok-yeol that "Seoul Detention Center does not give Yoon Seok-yeol time to exercise outdoors" is not true. The South Korean Ministry of Justice stated that according to the relevant laws and regulations on education and reform, the detention center gave Yoon Seok-yeol the same treatment as other detainees, but in order to avoid unnecessary contact between Yoon Seok-yeol and other people, the detention center has given him special management on individual issues. Regarding outdoor sports activities, the South Korean Ministry of Justice pointed out that detainees can carry out outdoor sports activities for one hour every day, and the time and frequency of Yoon Seok-yeol's outdoor activities are the same as other people. However, the detention center arranged for Yoon Seok-yeol to exercise outdoors alone to avoid contact with other people. Unless there are arrangements for the defense lawyer to visit or appear in court, the rest of the time is for normal outdoor activities as required. Earlier, Yoon Seok-yeol's defense lawyer posted on the social platform "Facebook" that the Seoul Detention Center did not give Yoon Seok-yeol time to exercise, which constituted a violation of human rights.
