Samsung's semiconductor business unit announced Tuesday that it has completed the development of the S3SSE2A chip and is now preparing samples for shipment.

The S3SSE2A chip is designed to protect critical data on mobile devices from the serious threat posed by quantum computing.

Samsung said the development of PQC (post-quantum cryptography) is necessary to defend against potential quantum attacks as quantum computers may make current encryption algorithms obsolete.
