Overseas UnionPay partner wallets can scan domestic WeChat payment codes to pay

According to 21 Finance, UnionPay International will reach a cooperation with WeChat Pay to support overseas UnionPay partner wallets to scan domestic WeChat Pay payment codes for payment. Eight wallets including Bank of China (Hong Kong) BoC Pay, Octopus, PayMe by HSBC, Tap & Go in Hong Kong, Bangkok Bank Mobile Banking, K PLUS in Thailand, NAVER Pay in South Korea, and ICBC Mobile Banking (ICBC Pay) in Malaysia will be the first to open this function, further enriching the mobile payment options for overseas people coming to China.
