OpenAI said on Monday that it will raise $40 billion in a new round of financing led by SoftBank Group, with a valuation of $300 billion. The funds will be used to advance artificial intelligence research, expand computing infrastructure and enhance its artificial intelligence tools. The company said it hopes to provide increasingly powerful tools to the 500 million people who use ChatGPT every week.
