On September 2nd, OpenAI announced a restructuring of its executive team, creating a new position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Applications, and the acquisition of product analytics company Statsig for $1.1 billion. Statsig, a company specializing in product optimization services like A/B testing, will be joined by its founder and CEO, Vijaye Raji, as CTO for Applications, reporting directly to Fidji Simo, CEO of Applications. "Upon completion of the transaction, Statsig employees will be integrated into the OpenAI team, and the company will continue to operate independently and serve existing clients from its Seattle headquarters," OpenAI stated.
