Doug Lefever, CEO of Advantest, an Nvidia supplier and the world's largest chip tester company, said he is closely watching the movements of large U.S. technology companies to see if their spending on artificial intelligence is slowing down. Lefever said demand for AI-powered smartphones would help protect parts of the semiconductor industry from a recession if data center investment slows.
