Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is visiting Beijing as its chips are banned from being exported to China.

Ren Hongbin, president of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), held talks with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in Beijing on Thursday, a press release showed.

Notably, this was Huang's second visit to Beijing after a three-month hiatus.

Huang said during the meeting that China is a very important market for Nvidia and that he hopes to continue to work with China, according to the press release.

Prior to his visit to Beijing, Nvidia announced Tuesday that it would record a quarterly charge of about $5.5 billion due to new restrictions on exporting H20 GPUs to China and other regions.

The news caused the company's shares to fall 6.87% to close at $104.49 per share on Wednesday.

A recent regulatory filing showed that on April 9, the U.S. government notified Nvidia that it must now obtain a license to ship H20 chips to China and several other countries.
