National People's Congress Representative Liu Qingfeng: Suggesting the establishment of AI unemployment insurance
2025-03-03 15:02:23

The 2025 National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference will be held soon. Liu Qingfeng, a member of the National People's Congress and chairman of iFLYTEK, said that AI technology will replace some jobs and create more new jobs and employment opportunities for the society. He suggested setting up AI unemployment insurance to provide protection for workers whose employment transformation is caused by the development of AI technology. The World Economic Forum's "Future of Jobs 2025 Report" predicts that in the next five years, new technologies and industrial changes will replace about 92 million jobs worldwide, but will also create 170 million new jobs. Liu Qingfeng proposed to strengthen the planning and management of new AI careers, systematically sort out new AI jobs, and promote their prosperity; build a full-chain governance mechanism of "employment monitoring-early warning-response", pilot an "unemployment risk early warning system" in manufacturing clusters, provide free AI skills training for low-income groups, and encourage insurance institutions to develop commercial AI unemployment insurance products.
