Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI launched its first standalone app for consumers on Thursday.
The app is called Grok, which is also the name of the artificial intelligence language model developed by xAI.
Starting Thursday, users can begin using this new Grok app for free.
Previously, users could only access xAI's flagship Grok chatbot through social media platform X.
Last month, xAI launched a free version of the Grok chatbot through the X platform.
However, the company said that X users who pay for Premium and Premium+ subscriptions will receive higher usage limits.
A description in Apple's App Store indicates that the Grok app is an early "beta” product and is being rolled out in the U.S.
The description says, "Introducing Grok Beta for iOS: get access to xAI's latest model, Grok 2, for free."
