U.S. billionaire Elon Musk donated 268,000 Tesla shares to several unnamed charities two days before the new year, according to Bloomberg.
The shares, worth nearly $112 million, were part of Musk's "year-end tax planning" and were donated to "certain charities," according to a filing on Tuesday.
Musk, 53, currently has a net worth of $415 billion, according to the latest Bloomberg Billionaires Index. He has made similarly large donations before.
In late 2021, Musk donated $5.7 billion worth of stock to unnamed charities in a similar fashion.
According to a tax return released by the Musk Foundation the following year, the stock actually went to his own nonprofit organization, the Musk Foundation.
